Young grizzly, a cub probably about 3 years old, apparently just chased off by its mother. He came close to us, and our guide wondered if it was for protection from another adult grizzly a couple hundred feet away. Adult grizzlies are cannibalistic and would readily attack a cub without its mothers protection.

This photo was taken in Katmai National Park in Alaska, home of the largest grizzly bear population in the world.
